So much for keeping my New Years resolutions, as my dear friend Cori reminded me, I'm already behind on posting.
One of our goals for this year was to keep a more accurate budget. We have tried excel sheets, programs on my blackberry, but now we feel like we've got the perfect program. Believe it or not, it was free! Go to mint.com and sign up for their free and secure budget program. It downloads all your checking and credit accounts so that you can easily allocate expenses. We sit down Monday nights and assign all our expenses to their categories and then we're done, it's awesome. It is incredibly easy to use and my favorite thing is that it shows how much you made in the month vs how much you spent. Whatever we've saved for the month we put in our savings and never touch again.
Saturday we had our new couches delivered. We've been married for almost 4 years and the only furniture we own is our bed, some bookcases, a tv stand, and now couches. After spending most of Saturday reorganizing the front room we finally feel like this apartment is becoming home.

oh my gosh, I didn't even realize!! That is so awesome that we're both having little girls only three months apart! I wish I were as far along as you are though, I'd love to quit my job and have Little Lucy at the end of March! :) I rarely blog hop, so I didn't even know you were pregnant. haha. I wanted to wait to announce it until it was more certain, but it looks like you did the same thing. You didn't announce it until 20 weeks Missy! How fun, well where are you living because we should totally have play dates over the summer! Call me.
Yea for another post! Good job to Cori for reminding you. :) And I LOVE your couches!!! After we got off the phone the other night I remembered I was going to ask you if you ended up getting them or not. Your front room looks great!!! I'm in the process of trying to organize a bookshelf in our bedroom, and I'm using your bookshelf for ideas. It looks great. Can't wait to see you guys this weekend!
Thank you thank you! My life really is not complete without a blog from you at least once a week (since, you know, I never get phone calls). Maybe when you have a little baby and are home all day nursing said baby you will call me (you know I'm kidding).
Love furniture buying!
IT totally made me laugh that RIGHT after you posted about your awesome budget, you posted your new beautiful couches. :) Hope you got them on sale... (teasing). That kitchen is super cute. My advice...make it now. You won't have time after she's born. He he.
Your couches are wonderful. They are classic and can be used in so many ways. You will love them forever ...actually the kids will use the cushions to make forts and then they will jump on them and eat cookies on them, the dog will sleep on them and then the time comes when you won't even think about them any more. But for now they are beautiful! Love you both!!! Mom
