I Can Walk and Other Ramblings

Last week I was able to say goodbye to the crutches! You don't realize how important it is to have the ability to walk until you're standing next to your child's crib wondering how you're going to pick them up and get them downstairs. It was a great learning experience and one I hope never to repeat :). As I said before Kiley was an angel. She slept through the nights and took some of her longest naps to date. I actually have a theory about this better sleeping schedule. I'll share that soon! Of course Dave picked up all the slack beautifully. He cleaned, organized, and took care of Kiley when I couldn't. It really does take two people to run a home. I'm back to happily cleaning the toilets and I mean that with all sincerity.

My sister got back from Africa on Saturday and brought us a suitcase full of fun gifts. I'll have to take some pictures of Kiley in her African garb, it's pretty awesome.

Dave and I are slowly getting our new house organized. We had a serious scare this week. Our water bill was $130!! We were beside ourselves trying to figure out what we could have done to use so much water. The next day I called and found out it was all a mistake....a $70 mistake. What a relief! We also discovered some possible water damage in our kitchen ceiling. We're learning a lot about the joys/pains of home maintenance.

I took some pictures of Kiley wearing one of her new winter outfits from Grandma J. Ky is becoming such an integral part of our family I couldn't imagine life without her. She has her own funny little quirks and personality. I feel so lucky I get to spend so much of my time getting to know her.

I'm so glad you can walk again! I can't even imaging trying to take care of a baby while on crutches! So glad your water bill was a mistake, so sorry about the possible water damage (do you want Curt to come up & look at it?), and LOVE the pictures of Kiley! She is just so cute! I guess a hike is probably out of the question for our next get-together, so we'll have to come up with a new plan. :)
