A Mission Call

My little brother finally opened his mission call! Ty's going to Houston Texas, I'm pretty sure it's northern Houston. He'll be leaving September 16th which means we have all summer with him! He got the call on Wednesday but chose not to open it until my sister from Provo could be there. Ty invited almost the whole neighborhood over to open it Sunday at 6:00 pm but Dave and I got a call at 10:00 this morning and he told us where he was going. I guess he just couldn't wait any longer so he woke up early this morning and opened his call all by himself. I didn't believe him at first but after physically seeing the call I believe him now :).

Don't you love how he got dressed up for this. His shirt makes me laugh every time, "Running is for criminals." I need to get Dave that shirt for work. I'm sure it would go over well.

Ty and our cousin Jenny. You'd think they were brother and sister.

He still had all the neighbors over that night and he did a big show of looking like it was the first time. Some of our neighbors were surprised at our lack of excitement but hearing it the second time we could only smile. Ty has just been glowing all night. Texas will fit Ty perfectly and I'm sure, just like Dave, he'll come home with lots of "dinner plate sized" belt buckles.

Dave and I have been so busy lately that anything outside working, eating, and sleeping we've forgotten...like our blog. Dave has the Wasatch Back in a week (the biggest race Ragnar does) and I've "inherited" a dozen or so clients from another trainer. One nice thing about starting new jobs together is that Dave and I can sympathize with each other on the stresses of a new job. Some times I wish we could go back to being "retired" but honestly we are twice as happy being twice as busy, it's just finding the right balance.

Hey Cool! This is Laurel. We are moving to Houston next week! We will be on the west side of downtown but Evan lives in the Woodlands (northern Houston). Tell him good luck and if he needs cookies, we can be there for your mom.

Congrats Ty! I think that's funny that he just couldn't wait to open it and pretended to open it again. :) He and Dave can both be proud Texans at heart now!
