A Trip: Part 1

After almost two months I now have something exciting to blog about. I guess that's not completely true. This summer has been crazy and we've had lots of neat experiences I just got lazy posting them. Here are some pictures from our recent vacation to San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. This was our big vacation for the summer. Dave and I spent the weekend in San Francisco and met my family in Lake Tahoe, where we spent the rest of the week.

Dave has never been to San Francisco and we both loved it. We stayed in Sausalito which is right across the bay from San Francisco. Our hotel was darling and we were right next to yummy cafes and posh shopping. We went to Muir Woods, drove the Golden Gate Bridge, and Lumbard Street. We also spent the day doing Alcatraz and Fisherman's Wharf.

We had these beautiful boats docked next to our hotel. What a good-lookin guy!

We hiked through Muir woods where the trees were huge!

We drove across the bridge and took a ferry across the bay which gave us a great view of just how big the bridge is!

Lombard Street is the crookedest street I've ever been on. There was a line just to drive down it not to mention all the people lining the street taking pictures.
We took a trolley up to the Pier where a ferry left for Alcatraz. I've been on some packed Subways but this trolley was ridiculous. I was practically sitting on the conductors lap, hey how you doin?
The tour of Alcatraz was awesome. You're given an audio tour which takes you through the whole prison. Dave actually was reading Public Enemies which gives a biography of some of the people who spent time in Alcatraz.
After Alcatraz we walked down to Fisherman's wharf where we ate lunch at Boudins. They are famous for their sourdough bread. I had a sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder, holy smokes it was good. Dave had a crab mac and cheese. Sounds weird but wow it was really good. At the wharf they set out platforms for the sea lions to sun bathe. That big guy in the front was posing the whole time, so funny.

We saw everything we wanted to and enjoyed every minute. I'll include the pictures we took in Lake Tahoe but that was a whole other vacation!

Looks like it was fun--I love all the pictures! (I especially like the posing sea lion.) We've missed you in the blogging world...glad you're back. :) Now that you're back in town we need to see if we can plan a quick trip to Seven Peaks. Curt's still pretty busy, but we'll try to give you a call soon!

It's so fun to see a vacation where you don't have to stop for diaper changes, barfing and DVD switches. :)
