A Trip: Part 2 and some other stuff

I do have good intentions to write on this blog! A month ago Dave and I went to Lake Tahoe with my family. We had a great time. There are so many funny pictures from that trip and I'll share just a few.The "other stuff" going on this last month includes my little brother Ty leaving for his mission. I remember the post I wrote about him getting his call, where did the time go? Honestly, it broke my heart saying goodbye. I'm used to seeing the kid almost everyday. I had a good cry about it but since we dropped him off at the curb I haven't cried since. He's serving the Lord, what could be better than that? We've heard from him several times since he reported to the MTC and he honestly loves it there. I was totally shocked but we're glad he's getting used to a missionary schedule. He also writes the funniest emails and letters. Basically he writes just like he thinks which means his thoughts are totally scattered, so funny.

Dave also caught a mouse at the gym where I work. The poor mouse must have been starving because Dave found him in the trash eating protein powder, gross. Dave had compassion and put the mouse in the dumpster where he could get lots of food easily. Currently we're looking for our first home. I find I get more frustrated about it than being excited. Is that a sign that it's not meant to be? Any great advice on home buying would be much appreciated! My hope is that I'll be able to update this blog more than once a month, hee hee.

Buying your first home IS more frustrating than exciting...totally normal feelings. My advice...DO NOT LET YOURSELF GET ATTACHED!!! Look at the house like a piece of meat and nothing more...DO NOT IMAGINE YOUR STUFF IN THE HOUSE OR HOW YOU WOULD DECORATE IT!!! You will only set yourself up for more frustrations. Only when you have signed your life away can you get excited!

I got a solution to your buying the house problem. JUST WAIT TILL WE MOVE! Lol, problem solved right. I don't want new neighbors dang it! Honestly though good luck. I am sure you will find something you absolutely love! YAY for Dave for catching the mouse. He probably still is having nightmares of us killing the one we found!

Umm yeah. I thought your blog died! :)

As for the first home....don't jump in over your head. That is my best advice. The bank will tell you that you can afford a mansion. Don't believe them.

I don't have advice for buying a new house...we're doomed to rentals for at least 8 more years...but good luck! Glad to see you're doing well and I'm very happy Dave didn't kill the mouse :) Oh, and two years will go by faster than you know it!

I just took my friend to the MTC not too long ago. It's crazy how you literally have to drop them off at the curb now. I remember how sad I was when my older brother left on his mission. It's awesome having a missionary in the family, though. So many blessings!

What a great pix at the MTC. How's Elder Johnson doing? Do you have an address? I'd love to keep in touch.
